Residential home construction services
Our residential home construction services involve the process of building a new home from the ground up. This comprehensive service encompasses various stages and includes a wide range of tasks and responsibilities. Here is an overview of our residential home construction services and what they typically include:
Planning and Design: This phase involves collaborating with architects, designers, and engineers to create a detailed plan for the new home. It includes determining the layout, selecting materials, specifying features, and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
Site Preparation: Before construction begins, the site must be prepared. This includes clearing the land, leveling the terrain, and ensuring proper drainage. Utilities such as water, electricity, and gas also need to be established.
Foundation Construction: The foundation is built, which provides a stable base for the home. This typically involves excavation, pouring concrete, and installing footings, slabs, or basement walls.
Framing: Once the foundation is complete, the framing begins. This includes erecting the structural framework of the home, such as walls, floors, and roof systems. It involves working with lumber, steel, or other materials to create the skeleton of the home.
Installation of Systems: Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems are installed during this stage. This includes laying pipes, wiring electrical outlets and switches, and setting up heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
Exterior Finishes: The exterior finishes give the home its distinctive look. This includes installing windows, doors, siding, roofing, and exterior trim. Outdoor features like porches, patios, driveways, and landscaping may also be included.
Interior Finishes: This stage involves the installation of interior elements that make the home functional and aesthetically pleasing. It includes drywall, insulation, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, and finishes like paint, wallpaper, and trimwork.
Final Touches and Inspections: Before the home is handed over to the homeowner, final touches are made, such as cleaning, touch-up painting, and conducting thorough inspections. These inspections ensure that the home meets all building codes and quality standards.
Throughout the construction process our contractors, project managers, and subcontractors work together to manage the various tasks involved. They oversee the project, coordinate the work, and ensure its completion within the agreed timeline and budget.
It’s important to consult with experienced contractors or construction professionals to discuss your specific requirements, receive expert advice, and obtain a comprehensive plan for your residential home construction project. We will guide you through every step of the construction process.

Initial phone call
During this phone call, Jimmy Richardson will learn more about the project and better understand the exact outcome you would like to achieve. We will discuss the budget you have for the project.
On-site visit
Jimmy Richardson will schedule a convenient meeting at the proposed project location. This is a free consultation.
Preliminary proposal
Next up, Richardson GC will present you with a preliminary proposal and a timeline for the project
A “contractor of choice” document is signed when Richardson GC is hired to save a start date in our schedule. We then prepare a comprehensive scope of work using proposals from sub-contractors after they have walked your site, our detailed takeoffs (how much of each material is needed to complete the job), and input from any final construction documents provided by your architect and designer, if applicable. A deposit is paid to Richardson GC to prepare this in-depth scope of work, which is 50% deducted from the last payment of the completed project.
Jimmy Richardson will sit down with you and review the detailed scope of the contract and establish an exact start date for your home remodel or renovation. A timeline is attached to the agreement that details each phase of construction, when the various stages will start, and how long each phase will take.
