Residential remodeling/refreshing services

Our residential home remodeling services involve making changes or updating parts of a home, often with the goal of improving functionality, aesthetics, or both. These services can be customized to meet the specific needs and style of the homeowner and may include a range of options such as:

Kitchen Remodeling: This may include changes to the layout, cabinets, countertops, appliances, lighting, flooring, and backsplash. A kitchen remodel can improve the functionality of the space, update its look, and add value to the home.

Bathroom Remodeling: Services may include remodeling the layout, replacing fixtures, updating tile, improving storage, and enhancing lighting. A bathroom remodel can significantly improve the functionality and comfort of the space.

Whole-Home Remodeling: This comprehensive remodel may include updates to multiple areas of the home, such as the kitchen, bathrooms, living spaces, bedrooms, and exterior features. This allows for a cohesive and updated look throughout the entire home.

Flooring Upgrades: This can include installing new hardwood, tile, vinyl plank, or carpet flooring throughout the home. This can help update the look and feel of the space while also improving its durability.

Painting: This can include painting walls, ceilings, or trim to improve the overall look and feel of the home.

Room Additions: Homeowners may choose to add new rooms, such as a bedroom or home office, or expand an existing space, such as a kitchen or family room.

Exterior Remodeling: This can include updates to the exterior of the home, such as replacing siding, roofing, windows, doors and updating landscaping.

Aging-in-place upgrades: Addition of accessibility features like grab bars, ramps, nonslip surfaces, wider doors, and installing a barrier-free shower.

During a residential home remodeling project, you will, with me and a designer, discuss their desired outcomes and create a plan to meet those goals within the given time and budget. We will manage the project and ensure it is completed with the highest level of quality and professionalism.

It is important that you consult with a qualified contractor or home remodeling specialist to receive professional advice, and create a plan that meets all of the homeowner’s specific needs and style preferences. We will guide you through every step of the process.

Initial phone call

During this phone call, Jimmy Richardson will learn more about the project and better understand the exact outcome you would like to achieve. We will discuss the budget you have for the project.

On-site visit

Jimmy Richardson will schedule a convenient meeting at the proposed project location. This is a free consultation.

Preliminary proposal

Next up, Richardson GC will present you with a preliminary proposal and a timeline for the project

A “contractor of choice” document is signed when Richardson GC is hired to save a start date in our schedule. We then prepare a comprehensive scope of work using proposals from sub-contractors after they have walked your site, our detailed takeoffs (how much of each material is needed to complete the job), and input from any final construction documents provided by your architect and designer, if applicable. A deposit is paid to Richardson GC to prepare this in-depth scope of work, which is 50% deducted from the last payment of the completed project.

Jimmy Richardson will sit down with you and review the detailed scope of the contract and establish an exact start date for your home remodel or renovation. A timeline is attached to the agreement that details each phase of construction, when the various stages will start, and how long each phase will take.
